Using Video Captions

Whenever your little one is watching videos on Youtube (or any other platform), turning on subtitles can help make these experiences very educational. Captions can teach your little ones important early literacy skills including how to recognize certain letters (a.k.a. letter knowledge), numbers (a.k.a. numeracy), words (a.k.a. vocabulary), and other important parts of language (which boosts print awareness).
